Davy Jones's Locker is a D&D 5e supplement includes 12 new aquatic-themed subclasses and 4 new playable species. This PDF was designed for players who want to more character options when it comes to designing new player characters for oceanic of nautical campaigns.

What’s inside

Barbarian: Blood Shark. The barbarian becomes a carnivorous predator that can consume their foes and gain abilities from them.

Bard: College of Shanties. Lead your teammates in song as you coordinate extra attacks and strategic movement using only the rhythm of your music. 

Cleric: Sea Domain. Control crashing waves and oceanic forces as you worship an ancient deity of the sea. 

Druid: Circle of Pressure. Trap into the natural forces of gravity to resist the pressure of the ocean, hurl your foes through the air, and crush them with the weight of the world.

Fighter: Mariner. Fight to protect the seas against mortal threats with the aid of an enchanted blade of pure water. 

Monk: Way of Lifewater. Harness the natural healing properties of water itself to act as a capable party medic. 

Paladin: Oath of the Pirate's Code. Swear an oath to the Pirate's Code, a code of ethics that all honor-driven pirates swear by. Turn the paladin into a swashbuckling legend!

Ranger: Angler. This ranger subclass specializes in making unique use of the Net, an piece of adventuring equipment seldom used in 5e. The Angler can use the net better than anyone else, and can use it to both restrain their foes and pull them in.

Rogue: Corsair. Our own take on the old Swashbucker rogue, this subclass focuses on the rogue's charisma, and how that can aid them in combat through clever use of wordplay and swordsmanship. 

Sorcerer: Kraken Blood. A sorcerer with a mysterious magical link to the kraken. Harness the power of this colossal titan with bolts of lightning and weather manipulation.

Warlock: Siren Patron. Make a pact with a siren or harpy in order to attain the gift of its melodic voice! Enchant, charm, and enrapture your foes with a song beautiful enough to die over!

Wizard: Hydromancer. A different mechanical take on the Divination Wizard. Flavor-wise, these are Divination wizards with an unconventional and often looked-down-upon method of seeing. By reading the ripples in pools of water, the Hydromancer can perform feats of divination entirely different from those of the standard diviner! 

Four Playable Species 

Included are also four new species: 

  • Kelpborn. Play as the Plant creature type for the first time! Kelpborn are plantfolk with an aquatic nature to them. They resemble kelp or seaweed, and live in shallow water where they can still catch sunlight. They possess the ability to feed and benefit off of sunlight and communicate with other plants!
  • Sharkfolk. Paired well with the new Blood Shark subclass, this new species lets you become an agile predator of the seas!
  • Jellyfolk. Jellyfolk are aquatic humanoids similar in appearance to that of jellyfish. They posses the ability to perfectly morph their boneless bodies, possess a powerful sting, and are even said to be able to live forever.
  • Dragon Turtleborn. Dragon Turtleborn are to Dragon Turtles what Dragonborn are to Dragons. Descended from these colossal sea creatures, Dragon Turtleborn possess a durable shell, webbed hands and feet, and the terrifying steam breath weapon of their ancestors.
